About Kristine, Acupuncturist in Vancouver, WA

Hello! My name is Kristine McGinley, and I’m dedicated to supporting your quality of life and vitality through acupuncture and integrative therapies.

I grew up here in the wondrous Pacific Northwest, a place that shaped both my connection to natural healing and my understanding that true health addresses more than just physical symptoms. My approach centers on a philosophy I first learned at Marquette University: Cura Personalis, which means “care for the entire person.”

This philosophy guides everything I do. It means cultivating respect for all that makes up an individual. Your talents, abilities, attributes, personality, desires, heart, faith, and health are all equally worthy of care and attention.

Acupuncture Education and Clinical Experience

My formal education began with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication in Theatre Arts from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. It was here that I learned the Jesuit concept of Cura Personalis, which became foundational to how I view individualized care.

My acupuncture path started in 2010 while I was living in Seattle. I experienced acupuncture treatment for myself and was amazed by the positive changes I could feel in my body. I knew immediately that I needed to learn more about this ancient healing therapy.

That discovery led me to enroll in the Master’s program at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, where I learned from many talented and experienced practitioners. I earned my Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) in 2016.

To deepen my clinical knowledge, I traveled to Nanjing, Jiangsu, China, where I completed a clinical study program at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. My time training with accomplished Chinese doctors and herbalists expanded and reinforced my understanding of health and disease treatment.

In 2017, I had a unique opportunity to spend seven months aboard a Princess Cruises vessel (Sun Princess), sailing around Australia and the South Pacific, offering acupuncture to passengers and crew. This global experience gave me invaluable insights into diverse health needs and approaches to wellness.

I established my private practice, Kristine Acupuncture, in Vancouver, WA in March 2018, and continue my ongoing process of learning about disease recovery, prevention, and optimum wellness.

Cura Personalis

During my graduate studies, I experienced a spiritual rebirth that allowed me to better cultivate my natural gifts and deepened my understanding of the profound connection between mind, body, and spirit.

I'm fortunate to train in medical Qigong with Master Liu He and Dr. Liu Dong at the Ling Gui International Healing Qigong School. I am certified to teach 1000 Hands Buddha Qigong for healing the heart, a practice I've been studying since 2010. I utilize my Qigong training to augment treatments with grounded Universal healing energy, and I offer instructional classes throughout the year to share this spiritual healing method with the community.

Real Stories, Real Relief

Read what Kristine’s patients are saying.

I am working as a registered nurse which is why I had stuck to traditional medicine, but Kristine has convinced me. I have had no referred nerve pain.

Kristine is a highly skilled acupuncturist who has a gentle touch and an absolutely marvelous, caring personality. She is able to pinpoint treatment.

Kristine seems wise beyond her years in knowing just what modalities to use at my appointments: moxibustion, massage, acupressure, breath work, and acupuncture.

I was very skeptical. After the first visit I was almost pain free. I would recommend this treatment to anyone who would listen to me.

Her level of understanding of the body’s energetic systems is clearly very advanced. She skillfully addresses the interrelationship of the various organ systems.

After only the first acupuncture treatment I was walking pain-free. For the first time in a long time I am able to walk pain-free.

After 2 treatments pain was easing. After 5 treatments I can honestly say there is no pain in left shoulder. I can now sleep on my left side.

She combines her professional training, experience, and knowledge with a most compassionate and caring temperament.

I was a skeptic. I thought acupuncture was a load of malarkey. I was very, very wrong. Through 5 treatments Kristine reduced my pain level from 5/10 down to 3/10.

I arrived in agony, unable to walk. After the fourth session, I could easily walk the length of the ship. Kristine is not only knowledgeable but truly caring.

Kristine also treats my internal organs addressing how a poor liver is associated with pain in different body parts. My mental disposition has also improved.

After one session, I was able to walk down a flight of stairs without any sharp pain. Without her treatment, I would still be dreading going down stairs.
