What to Expect During Treatment
Because every body is different, treatments will vary.
Your session will consist mainly of Acupuncture.
Adjunct therapies are added according to your needs and include bodywork, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, qigong, herbal medicine & nutritional therapy,
as well as crystal therapy.
Treatment is determined based on your chief complaint and your body's constitution. This will be discussed at your initial appointment.
Treatment Flow
All patients are put on an initial treatment plan of 6 visits. Frequency of treatment depends of the level of care needed.
More severe conditions receive more frequent treatment.
Patients desiring wellness management and disease prevention require less frequent visits.
After the 6th visit the patient is re-evaluated and adjustments are made to the frequency of treatment depending on the individual's level of improvement and their personal health goals.
VA referrals
For referrals from the Office of Veterans Affairs there is zero cost to the veteran.
Every authorization comes with a specific number of treatments allowed and a timeframe of when they must occur.
Your first authorization allows 12 treatments within a 60 day period.
There will be an initial evaluation and a mid-auth evaluation.
If it is determined at the mid-auth evaluation that you will need further treatment
I will request a continuation of care from the VA office of community care.
Subsequent authorizations allow for 8 more treatments within a 90 day period.
I am committed to your care and will work with you as long as necessary to properly manage your pain.

What is Acupuncture? |
Acupuncture is a medical therapy where thin sterile metal needles are inserted through the skin at specific points. Needles penetrate at depths ranging from 1/8" to 3-5" depending on the area of the body. Acupuncture needles stimulate the body's own healing mechanisms by promoting blood circulation, lymph flow, and hormone & neurotransmitter regulation, by stimulating the immune response, and by supporting nervous system health. This therapy also relaxes muscle and connective tissue to treat pain, tension and spasms. Points are selected based on the chief complaint and your body's constitution. The patient rests with the needles in for 20-40min. |
